"The Blizzard" by T. Ives

Gleaming, pearly crystals journey from the sky
Like curtains barricading light
Blanketing the Earth
Solitary hexagons
Parachuters abandoning a plane..
Each white dot acts as a stitch-
And they form a quilt wrapping the ground
To get TORN APART
bit by bit
by thoughtless sleds and feet....
At night, drifts rest in peace
Undisturbed
Glistening under a winter moon
