Trade Udate:Jumping on Groupon! Again!

We are trying to accumulate as much GRPN as we can. We mentioned to readers we were buying the stock today at $9.17. We were going to wait for $8.85; however, we now think the stock is going to pop huge after they report earnings on November 7th. We will try to buy more before the cat's out of the bag. Their new website and 5th year anniversary are going to be great! Love the new talent they hired earlier this year! They are shaking things up!

Red Flags

We just noticed a couple more Red Flags. The Dow Transport Index has pretty much peaked, Skew Index is at dangerously high levels, Volatility is at dangerously low levels, the holidays are coming up and portfolio managers need to lock in their bonuses, and The Nasdaq is at a "Trader's Must Take Profits" rule level.

Only the greediest are left at the table -you know the old maxim:" Pigs get slaughtered". If you haven't made enough money in this market by now, you are doomed to losses.

Word on the Street

Short-term market top is here - take profits before others do;)

Current State of the Market

The Big Tech earnings pop is about over. Apple got no love, Facebook is next to report, then finally Tesla. We are currently 2X's long the volatility. The fear gauges are all at record lows. Not much more to play before the holidays. Portfolio Managers are just dying to lock in their gains and more importantly...their performance bonuses! We are betting on some selling; however, we are tracking Tesla and Groupon for potential trades. Check emails for research and trade strategy.

No Guts:No Glory!!!!

Another "failed-to-pull-the-trigger" event! This one hurts! Yesterday we were looking at the Google October 950 calls at $1. Our computers showed a double-bottom and earnings event scenario. We looked at it for an hour. Our computers gave it a 70% chance of success; however, it was a win or lose all. We passed. Had we pulled the trigger, we would have made 60-times our money in 24 hours!!! That is right...60-times our money. The options would have been worth $61 in one day. I am devastated. It doesn't matter whether anyone believes us or not. We were there with our hand on the trigger and we froze. Let's put it this way...for every $1000 we bought...we would have gotten at least $60,000 today. This is not the first time we were there and froze. The good news is that we are there. The bad news is that we freeze. Note to self: Gamble a little!! We will be there many more times, the question is: Will we continue to freeze-up? Aaaaaaarrrrrrrggghhh!!! Too devastated to continue this post right now......more later.

Trade Update: GRPN

We sold today at $11.20 for a 5% loss. The traders got hold of the stock and pushed it to $9.88. Our position was too large and made us a little nervous. The stock is drawing too much negative attention for our tastes. We were quite surprised by the quickness of the selling and prefer to step aside at this point and see how things shake out. Stay tuned.

Trade Updates for Thursday: TSLA , GRPN

Well, it looks like we jumped off Tesla just in time. We sold at $194 on Monday. It turned out to be perfect timing as the stock has plunged to the low 170's the last few days. Our decision was more a matter of instinct than anything else. We knew the stock would get hit at 200 bucks and we just cashed out a little early to avoid the rush. Good thing we didn't get greedy!

Our Groupon trade was looking so good this morning that we plowed our Tesla profit into maxing out our position. They hired some great talent from Amazon and other tech marketing and operations types. We loved this news so much we thought about bringing in some reserve capital and margin the hilt out of it on buying more. We did max out the current accounts and decided to not get too crazy. Good thing! The stock faded to $11.30 at the close and our basis is about 55 cents higher. We are going to attribute it to the general market weakness and political bickering. The company specific news on a fundamental and strategic basis is just fantastic. These new guys and gals they picked up are heavy hitters. We continue to believe the shares are worth 16 bucks by the end of the year. We may have to trade around our position if the market continues to weaken because of the size we have acquired. Let's hope not.

Surfing the Wave....

We coninue to ride the TSLA and GRPN waves. Do we think about the valuations? Yes! Does it matter? Not yet! Stay tuned........whoa hossy!

TCM Revived and Rockin!

Apology: We have been really bad at keeping this public blog going this year. A small circle of our private clients have been in the loop; however, we really didn't start posting until 3 months ago.

Update: We have revived our accounts and been rockin the house so far! Our private clients and TCM have been in the zone. We changed our strategy by incorporating some elements of Fantasy Football strategy into our trading programs. We are utilizing the same technical trading programs; however, we discovered by tweeking the useless information from the financial media and fusing it with some Fantasy Football strategies, we can make more money. Sounds ridiculous...right? We thought so too until our small amount of  "seed money" for the program is turning into a much larger account!

What we been doing: Trading TVIX, F, TSLA, and GRPN. We started with TSLA at $108 and GRPN at around $9, and  F at $12, TVIX has been a scratch.

TCM2013 ATL is up 73% YTD.

All-in on TVIX

We have been discussing playing the volatility trade for the last couple weeks. We have accumulated a large position in this bet over the last week. Our cost is 4.87. One thing that can happen is that the volatility and the market can go up at the same time. It is the end of January and all the mutual funds may be burned out of buying. We are expect a sharp increase in volatility. Our technical systems are indicating a very high probability of a pattern change.

2013 Trading Tip 1: Increase Trading Results!

Tip: You can increase your success and profits by not trading  all the time. You have to ask yourself if you are addicted to the action or are you are really seeing that many opportunities. Like in Poker, you don't have to play every hand. Great traders and poker players know when to bet, fold'em, hold'em, or walk away. Learn to track trades and wait for the right timing. You will increase your odds and increase your profits!

Sabbatical?!

Yeah...after trading for 20 straight years, he got bored with the markets and wanted to check out other interests. He went into the automobile industry selling new Nissan vehicles and loves it. The "Call of the Markets" brought him back as part-time participant. Now he can make money selling vehicles and trading it in the markets. Two passions!

Btw....New car sales are booming! Hmmmmm.....trades?

Stockspeare and his HAL3000 computer are back!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WELCOME 2013!......After an 8- month sabbatical, Stockspeare and The Magic Trading Computer are back! They started off before the new year  picking up Facebook (FB) at $25, MGM at $9, and Apple at $505. A great way to start 2013!

Trading the "Fiscal Cliff Bluff" was a breeze. We shut off the media and just turned on HAL. He set the prices and we set the buy-limit orders. They were all hit. We are going to let him pick the stocks for awhile because we are running almost entirely on technical analysis and the news is boring right now..lol.. We are re-connecting with our trading community. Stay tuned.............

Car Review for young Wall Streeters...2013 Altima 3.5 SL

Normally we don't review cars; however, I have received some emails about "young guns" and their first new car.

Today we discuss The 2013 Altima 3.5 SL vs, The BMW 325 as a first new car purchase for young "Masters of The Universe". Normally, you would never put a Nissan with a BMW! Are you kidding me?!

I don't believe it myself. The car is hot! Save 15k+ for your trading account, digs upgrades, or new suits and thousands on service without losing status and class. Not going to bore you with a full review. Let's just put it this way.....Check it out! It used to be...get the BMW or get the Mercedes and forgetaboutit. Throwing away money on "compromised" quality after all the consolidations in the auto industry.....do you have a Lexus or Camry..Do you have a Mercedes or Chrysler....BMW or whatever...Infinity or Nissan....etc..

Now, my readers know that I drive my 2003 BMW 530I with all the packages. I just love the pre-2004 cockpits and trim and hate the post 2003 style. Call me "old school". I wouldn't change it for anything....until the 2013 Altima SL ...fully packaged. My previous cars ....1987 SAAB Turbo SPG (Awesome, would love to collect it), Original Ford Explorer XLT ..Forest Green.with all the push  bars and KC headlights..perfect Greenwich,CT car at the time..when they first came out), 1999 35th Edition Ford  Mustang GT Convertible (really cool..blew two engines)...obviously as a teen and in college I had really large and ugly cars until I got my first job and could afford to buy the first car that I loved...The SPG....I digress.

The 2013 3.5 Altima SL fully loaded or 2.5 SL is worth at least a look....forgetaboutit.

Holding steady on TVIX..may double up soon!

We had this in for months as our readers can attest. let's see where it takes us!

The Stockspeare Market Research Report!

It seems "grass-roots market and trading analysis" is taking off! Call it a natural progression of free markets and the technology age or dissatisfaction with the current capital system's flow of information - it is here. Our new website will attempt capture the essence of this new spirit in a monthly newsletter. It just may be the perfect resource for those who are tired of being "captured" and would like to take control of their own investment and trading destiny. Stay tuned........

TVIX trade update.....

I apologize for the delay. The clients who receive email already acted on the update. We sold TVIX a couple days ago at $3.63. The reason was purely technical in nature. One of our new resources showed us an "inverse head-and -shoulders" formation in the market and our computers displayed a breakdown in the TVIX trade. We cleared about 10% on the trade. We are now in cash and will update soon. Please check emails for trade ideas.
